Ramadan the Month of Quran

As we are getting close to the month of Ramadan, the month of the Qur'an, and recitation of Annual Ramadan Competition...

the Qur'an Lab committee is pleased to announce that insha Allah the Annual Ramadan Competition will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2014 Both at Hovver Crescent Center and at the Homewood Masjid and . The competition is open to the whole community and will consist of the following three levels:

 

Level I (Beginners Level): The participants will be judged on the quality of memorization as well as the correct pronunciation of the Arabic letters (Makharej Al-Hourouf).

 

Level II (Intermediate Level): The participants will be judged on the quality of memorization, the correct pronunciation of the Arabic letters, and the rules of the An-Noon Al-Sakina wa At-Tanween, An-Noon and Al-Meem Al-Mushaddadatan, as well as Al-Madd Al-Lazim, Al-Madd Al-Muttasil, and Al-Munfasil.

 

Level III (Advanced Level): The participants will be judged on the quality of memorization, the correct pronunciation of the Arabic letters, as well as the correct application of all the Tajweed rules for Level II, in addition to the rules of Al-Meem As-Sakina.

Moreover, there will be a new category, called Al-Huffath Group, which will include individuals who are working on memorizing the whole Quran. These participants will be tested on a minimum of one juzu’ (chapter), the last that they got to, and will be judged using the same criteria that apply to the Advanced Level.
